I've been getting together Annabelle's Halloween Costume! Annabelle's going to be a mini Dorothy! I've always been a huge fan of the Wizard of Oz since I was a little girl, so I thought it would be fun to have Annabelle be Dorothy! I purchased the dress a couple of weeks ago at our local children's consignment store for only $6.50! Next up I'm going to get her basket with a stuffed Toto off of Amazon, and have been looking on etsy for some finishing touches! Here's a couple of my favorites:

the nursery
Here's a look at Annabelle's nursery. These were taken before she arrived! I had a list of projects I wanted to get done before she arrived. One of the larger, was redoing the window seat.
If you couldn't tell, the nursery theme is pink and green with elephants!
I made a cover for the long cushion and lots of pillow covers. I added the white sheer drapes with green ribbon as well. The room was already PINK when we moved in, so it worked out perfectly!
We got a comfy rocking chair with matching ottoman for our nursing sessions.
The bookcase ready to be filled up with books. My parents saved a big box of mine when I was little. Perfect to pass on to Annabelle.
The changing table nook. I hand painted the "A is for Annabelle" sign. That is now hung above the table. The tissue poms I found on etsy. Found the wicker baskets at Michaels for 90% off! And you can't go wrong with a Vera Bradley diaper bag!
Just the start of her LARGE wardobe!!
(don't worry, everything was washed before Annabelle wore them)
I was lucky enough in my childhood bedroom to have a window seat my Dad and Grandpa made for me. I can see Annabelle reading and doing her homework here in the future!
We placed her crib in the center of the room. It really finishes the room perfectly!
Hope you enjoyed a little tour of Annabelle's room!
Have a great Wednesday!

show and tell friday!!

I'm joining in the fun over at My Romantic Home, "Show and Tell Friday"!!
What I'm sharing this Friday are these beautiful blue dishes I found at Goodwill! I was making my usual rounds and came across these beauties sitting on the shelf. They were marked only $2.50 each. At first I didn't know what I was going to do with them, but I knew I had to purchase them. They were way too nice to pass up!

A closer look at them, I realized just how nice they really are. Ironstone England... yup they were mine!
Then I had the brilliant idea to change out the plates (well, the Christmas plates I still had up) on the hutch.

With the blue English plates I added jars of vintage buttons and other pieces in ivory and creams. One of my other favorite things on the hutch is the Dorothy figure from Jim Shore.
(My brother gave it to me last Christmas and he stood in line for hours to get it signed by Jim! I just love his pieces!)
Thanks for joining my in show in tell friday! Off to see the other great blogs on the list!

I have blogged a lot about my hutch over the seasons. Two years ago I shared the story about this hutch at another post party at Cindy's called Favorite Things. Check out the story here.
