I needed to make some pumpkin examples at work last week with our faux pumpkins.

I decided to our last name and the year we were married! I used a hot knife and a alphabet template and carved out the letters. Added some glitter swirl stickers and a bow..ta-daaa!

I'm joining in the fun over at My Romantic Home, "Show and Tell Friday"!!

What I'm sharing this Friday are these beautiful blue dishes I found at Goodwill! I was making my usual rounds and came across these beauties sitting on the shelf. They were marked only $2.50 each. At first I didn't know what I was going to do with them, but I knew I had to purchase them. They were way too nice to pass up!

A closer look at them, I realized just how nice they really are. Ironstone England... yup they were mine!

Then I had the brilliant idea to change out the plates (well, the Christmas plates I still had up) on the hutch.

With the blue English plates I added jars of vintage buttons and other pieces in ivory and creams. One of my other favorite things on the hutch is the Dorothy figure from Jim Shore.

(My brother gave it to me last Christmas and he stood in line for hours to get it signed by Jim! I just love his pieces!)

The holiday rush is finally over, and now I get to be little more crafty. There are some projects I've been wanting to try out and create them myself.

The first project I tried out for myself was the book wreath. I have seen it on blogs and wanted to put my own spin on it.

I love the ruffle look of the pages. I used a French Literature book from the 1950's. The pages are a yummy coffee color. Perfect vintage.

I have it hanging above my stairs heading to my family room. I am just loving it right now!!

Here's a little sneak peek at my studio! I have a couple more things I want to get done before I reveal it all.

I wanted to start with one of the corners of the room. In the smaller room I didn't have any room for this lady, I was so excited to have her in this larger room. I found her a couple of years ago at a sale. She was marked $5 which I knew was a steal. But I already had one from my boss at the florist I worked at. So I was talking it over with my Mom, and the lady said. how about $3? How could I say no to that price?

So there she is dressed up in my handmade lace rose corsages, a vintage measuring tape and some antique keys. Behind is a vintage replica of a Vogue cover my hubby got me for my birthday years ago.

This weekend the hubby and I are off to New York City with my Sister in law and her husband to visit our friend who lives in Brooklyn. I've been making many different purses for the local shops I sell in. So I finally took the time to make myself one.

This fabric has been one of my big sellers with my small clutch purses I make. I also had this beautiful royal blue satin that I thought would look great with the black and white fabric. In my bits and baubles drawer I found this lonely earring, I took the clip off and make into a pin that I can take on and off. I can't wait to use in the city!

I do custom orders if anyone is interested in this clutch.

I have been working non stop on my "new" studio for the past 4 days and is almost complete:) I'm so excited to share it with you! It has been really nice organizing everything from scratch, and putting labels on each container. Hopefully now I will follow what I have started!!

I went to a local church sale yesterday, I forgot about going on Saturday, and on my way home I was excited to see that they were open and have a $2.00 bag sale! I found some great goodies that I am excited to use!

I've been wanting a vintage jewelry box and I saw one sitting on the table with various pieces of jewelry, so I added the little cutie to my brown paper bag. What a deal!!

This morning I filled it with some of my collection of sparkly stones and my favorite laces.

The starburst broach in the above photo I wore on my wedding dress, it's defiantly one of my favorites!

My hubby has graciously agreed to change our office rooms with me, his is a little bigger and I am running out of space for all my crafty items in my little studio. So next week we will be working on changing the rooms around. I am excited to be starting from scratch; arranging everything just right! Pictures will be coming in the next weeks!!

How time flies! It's crazy that we are almost at the end of July!

I've been absent since May, but I am still going, busy as ever! I started selling at another local store; and been making new things in any of my spare time. On August 1st the store will have been open a month, and I'm very happy with the turn out! :)

This is one of the new items I have been making. They are available at the store and in my etsy shop.

I have plans to make other sayings as well. Those will be coming soon:)

I used different vintage trims along with some vintage fabrics.

I love how the baby one turned out! Perfect for a nursery. :)

This weekend I have been making these little guys. I wanted to make something new for the shop and the local shops I'm in, so I thought these would be cute to sell.

I have been having fun picking out the color combinations. I really liked how this yellow turned out. I made a corsage with a vintage button for the center.

This pink one has the black and white gingham inside and on the wristlet part.

And this blue one was my first try, which turned out pretty good :) I found this beautiful fabric at a re-sell store, I just love it!

i found some pretties last week at sales. When ever I see any kind of lace at a sale, I go in and sweep it up! I have a ever growing collection of vintage laces, I just love the intricate workings.

I also found some pretty pink floral corsage and loads of pearls. I am hoping to collect enough of them to fill a glass canister. How pretty would that be?

I finally spent some time re-decorating my home today. I feel like I have no time to work on my house because of other things going on. So I spent the day at some sales and fixing up the house....

I added one of my favorites... Little Women novel. I remembering watching the movie for the first time years and years ago, and I still love it today. Such a good story!

I've been wanting to neutralize the hutch for some time now. So I gathered a bunch of whites, creams, and ivory. I wanted it simple looking.

Loads of vintage buttons, faux birds nests, glass, lace, and mother of pearl napkins rings, among other things make up my hutch... have fun looking..... happy friday!!!:)

This past weekend I made some journals. I had some really pretty paper and ribbon that I thought would be fun looking for jounals.

I don't know why this one photo is going the wrong way... I loved all the prints together on this green journal. And I LOVE polka dots also!

Before I went into work this afternoon I was out bird watching in my back yard. There has been this one blue jay in our yard this year and I wanted to take some pictures of the little guy.

This was the only clear shot I got of him. I'll have to try again tomorrow.

But the other pictures turned out pretty cool.

I love how all the branches of the trees look. It looks kinda like a spiderweb.

Even though my camera decided to focus on the branches rather than the robin, I really liked how this one turned out also.

Oh... and I couldn't resist not putting one in here of my girl!!

I dove in my vintage button stash on Saturday to make this heart wreath. I have jars and jars of buttons that are just waiting for me to use them! I wrapped the wreath form in vintage laces and accented with vintage ivory pearls.

I used more lace to hang it along with a white seam binding bow. I might have to make another one for myself!!

I know it's been awhile since I posted last, but I do have 2 good reasons why...

One is because hubby and I took a vacation to the Caribbean, taking a week long vacation. We visited Key West, Grand Cayman, and Ochos Rios. We had a blast and it was much needed!!

The second reason is that I was getting things ready for a show I am going to be in this weekend!

Here's a another look at my living room. It's still a work in progress, more projects I want to complete.

The lamp on the top of the bookcase I got at a sale for only $6, the little roses on the base are so pretty. The shades a little plain, so I thought I would add some ruffles I won in a giveaway on Vintage Bella Studio's blog.

I had a couch cover in my sunroom that I moved into this room. I also had some black furniture pieces that I bought from Pottery Barn a couple of years ago moved to our family room. I wanted this room bright and have the shabby look to it. I added some new pillows and ones that I made to the couch. And to make it complete I put my bargain of a quilt over the back of the couch.

I created some new jewelry pieces for the shop. I've had some vintage style charms for awhile and been wanting to make something with them.

I really liked how they came out. Very simple and chic. Right now there is only the bracelet and the necklace in the shop.

But...

I started making these collages this past weekend. I had so much fun making these little hangings. I got all of my vintage trim and laces together and matched them with the picture I was using.

I like the detail a lot on this one, the pearls, lace and trims go along with the French paper and an old photo.

This photo of this sweet little girl caught my eye; I used vintage music paper with vintage buttons.

A couple more I made... sweet little eyelet lace.

Some of my favorite laces, aqua and the intricate ivory.

I am so excited! Yesterday I was out with my Mom waiting for Coco to get done with her hair appointment, when we went in a antique co-op. She was telling me that there was a woman that had a booth that was full of white furniture.

I spotted this cute table. Exactly what I was looking for! It was a steal as well. The booth owner also had some other end tables I am going to keep in mind....

The lamp was from my parents to my hubby and I for our 1 year wedding anniversary... Love Birds. I loaded up the bottom with Shabby Chic and gardening books. The hanging heart I've had for years, it was hanging in my childhood bedroom.

I'm still in the process of finishing up the living room, so I will be featuring it soon!

Here's my little fur-ball with her new hair cut. She was sitting pretty while I was moving the room around, but soon I got the camera out she wouldn't sit still... so, sorry about the blurry photos of my Coco :)

I sure hope Spring is right around the corner, the snow keeps on coming in my neck of the woods. These little creations make me smile.

I hand made the little nests and placed them in a glass desert cup.

{the "welcome spring" nest with blue eggs has sold...thanks!!}

They are a perfect little reminder that Spring is right around the corner.

I put two in my shop.

The second version I made, this one with white speckled eggs with "New Beginnings" banner. This one also has vintage lace added around the glass.

romantic fans part 2

Since all three of my fans from the previous post sold, I decided to make a couple more for the shop.

This first one I decided to give it a "natural" look. I made the little bird's nest and added some eggs, feathers and a glittered butterfly to it.

This second one has to be my favorite out of this bunch. I just love the light pink and blue together. The cameo is the perfect touch!

And this last one I made another pink and white theme. Pink flowers, feathers and seam binding paired with vintage lace and buttons.

I had some fun today making these lovelies! I used laser cut wooden fans as the base. They can be found in my etsy shop. And of course I had to make some for my own house!!

I painted this lovely classic white and added vintage pink feathers,

pearls and lace. I also added some yummy seam binding and pink flowers.

This one is my favorite so far!! :)

I tried my hand at a collage the other day. I've been wanting to work on one foe awhile now and I had so much fun making it!!!

I used Paris themed paper with Fleur de leis paper for the background.

I added vintage buttons and lace. I took a ink pad and rubbed it over the fluer de leis paper and some of the lace to give it a more distressed look.

A while ago I made these cute little Valentine's for my etsy shop. I don't usually decorate too much for Valentine's Day, but I thought these would be cute here and there in the house.

I used crepe paper, glitter, card stock, and some basket shred.

Welcome to Sheazzie Loo's! It's a beautiful store in the town of Fairport. I teamed up with the owner, Mary, and is now selling my creations!! I am so excited to have my things in her wonderful store. Mary takes old furniture, paints and distresses it, and they are masterpieces! Just take a look around...

By the front counter, some of my handmade tags are displayed in the drawers. I just love how she displays items.

If my husband and I ever re-do our bedroom, I would love to get this matching set.

The "black and white room" as she calls it, wonderful French inspired things. Love the color of the walls!

Another shot of the dresser set. She doesn't have much Christmas decorations, just beautiful feather trees around the shop. Every time I go in, things are rearranged, keeping things fresh looking.

The past couple of years I have been picking up vintage Christmas ornaments where ever I saw them. Some I got crazy deals on them, and paid next to nothing.

Taking them out this year I realized just how many I had...

The cloches I won at an auction back in September came to be very handy with displaying the bulbs. I decided to color coordinate them in each container. The very large on in the middle was pretty tricky to fill. I had to slide a book underneath when putting it on the coffee table. The one on the right with all the pastel colors is my favorite!

Aren't the colors just amazing?! When ever I see some out and about I try not to buy anymore, only if they are pink, I am hoping to making a wreath out of them for next year!

decorating the outdoors

For the past couple of years, my Father-in-law has given us a fresh Christmas tree for our house. He grows them on their family's 400 acre property. My Hubby's Grandmother also makes wreaths like this beautiful one every year for the whole family.

I wanted to do something different in my large window box, and couldn't really think of anything too exciting. When I was putting these fresh Christmas greens in them, I stuck a couple of strands of lights and put these old ice skating skates and a big plaid bow. I wasn't really the look I was going for but I'm liking how it turned out.

One of my absolutely favorite things about Christmas is the smell of cedar, pine, noble, any of the Christmas greens!

Here is the front of the house, I made up some red velvet bows for the posts. I am thinking next year of changing over to burgundy.

decorating the hutch

This weekend I finished up decorating my hutch for the Christmas season. I was excited to use my new holiday plates that I got at Home Goods. Last year I got a set of plates that I used at the Dollar store, but they weren't cutting it. :) And the new ones only cost $12.

The colors in the plates are a really nice red and green, not too bright of colors. I used the same dinner plates behind them as I used when I decorated for Fall. The sparkly snowflakes are napkin holder I bought at Pottery Barn a couple of years ago when they went on clearance.

I used some of my lace trees around the house for decorating. The white tree on top was another Home Goods find, the same day I got the plates.

I also addded some glittery leaf picks here and there to give the hutch some glamour.

I wasn't sure what to do with the counter, so I used a holiday placemat and added some leaf stems and more glittery ornaments.

I don't know if mine is as nice as my parents, but I am happy with how it turned out! :)

decorating for the holidays

I went over my parents to visit on Friday and my Mom had most of her holiday decorating done. I always love seeing how she decorates the house. Seeing things from my childhood and seeing new items she has put together.

I absolutely loved how she decorated her hutch this year. Leaving the blue mixed in with the red and green looks really great I think!

Simple touch to the mirror in the dinning room, adding a little greenery to it adds a lot of character.

A sign of Christmas in the household is my Mom's glittery Santa collection. Over the years the Santa family has grown and grown. I used to be on the look out for glittery Santa's when I was Christmas shopping for her. Now she says that she has too many :) I have actually started a collection of them myself, I think I only have 4 though. lol.

And my parents little but beautiful Christmas tree. I have given her grief over the past 2 or 3 years of putting a small tree up since my brother and I aren't living there anymore. But I have to say that it always turns out adorable!

another craft show

I was in another craft show last Saturday. I gotta a call on Friday evening if I wanted to take part in a craft show the next day. I had no real plans for the day so I said way not?!?

The the rush was on to get everything together for the show, pricing new items and making more things.

The set up was pretty similar to my last craft show set up. I was happy with the results of the show, and I learn more and more what people are looking for.

I'm hoping to get into more shows coming up. Hope you enjoyed seeing my table set up, I'll be posting about my Christmas decorations soon!

shabby suitcase

I've been working on this little cutie for a little bit now. And just finished her the other day. I hot glued vintage white and ivory buttons to the outside of the suitcase. Then I used a white tassel trim.

I love how the white buttons look on the grey background.

Good thing I still have LOTS of buttons left over to use fr future projects!

For the top I painted it white then mod podged ivory floral scrapbook paper over it. I then used old French book paper and used vintage inspired bird illustrations.

I used it in a craft show I was in on Saturday as part as a display piece. A lot of people commented on it, liking it a lot! :)

I am going to finish the inside off and I'll share the final product with you with hopefully better pictures of it!!

I've been a big fan of lavender lately; the color and especially the herb. When my best friend and I were little I was always the pink girl, having to have everything and anything pink, and she was always the purple gal. Am I changing over to purple?? Well, probably not, but for right now I'm seeing lavender fields.

The scent of lavender is such a soothing and clean. I wanted to make some lavender sachets to put in closets and clothing drawers and to hang them.

So I have been making these sweet little sachets. Some made from vintage fabrics, some new, but all are filled with lavender.

granger homestead

Last Friday my Mother and I traveled to local town for a Artisan craft show. The shows entrance fee's benefited the Granger Homestead. It 's a beautiful old mansion built in the early 1800's. Just look at this house!

The craft show took place in front of the mansion in a huge white tent. It was filled with many many vendors who were all so talented. There was painter there that many years ago my parents bought her beautiful paintings and I have always loved them through out the years, so when I saw her I knew I had to get one of her works of art. She even remembered me when I visited her studio almost 15 years ago! Make sure you check out her website and her painting "Annie's Dream".

The mansion was decorated in Christmas decor. Inside the house, there was the Festival of the trees. Many different decorated Christmas trees done up in Patriotic, Victorian, etc themes. Usually the homestead is a museum and attracts around 15,000 people a year.

Windows were decorated with Christmas wreath. Gorgeous fall leaves provided a backdrop.

There was even horse buggie rides for kids and their parents. Even though it was a beautiful sight, wouldn't it even be better with snow?? :)

After visiting the homestead we went into town to do some shopping. We even went to Home Goods. I've heard so much about this store, it was so much fun! I found some goodies that I will share with you soon!

sun room workings

This week I have been working on more sun room pillows and decorations. I've always wanted a white feather wreath, so yesterday I made one for the room. I used a sea foam green ribbon to hang it up.

(one is avaiable in my etsy shop)

This was the first thing I wanted to get done, is the comfy seating area. I wanted a very miss-matching but coordinating pillows. This love seat I also picked up for free a couple of years ago. I will eventually change it out for the white wicker set.

I used mostly vintage fabrics that I have been hording, the "too pretty to use" fabrics. But I decided to go for it and use them as pillows that I would enjoy and see often. :) Some of the fabrics were vintage napkins and runners.

This couch is directly across from the other. Still a work in progress.... I started a patchwork quilt awhile ago and still needs batting, but for now works well on the back of the couch.

I started my sunroom makeover this weekend. The 1st step I did was take away one of the chairs pictured above, it was a little cramped in the corner, so taking away the chair really opened it up.

I also went through my favorite fabrics and picked out patterns I wanted to make pillows out of. I'm going to use pinks, whites, and blues...staying with the shabby chic look.

I hit the jackpot when I found this wicker love seat and chair for nothing this weekend. My plan of action is to put it in the room as well.

romantic holiday trees

I had a pretty creative weekend last Saturday and Sunday, some of the things I made were these romantic lace trees. I went through my lace collection and used them on these trees. I put some sets up on my etsy page for sale.

There is thre different sets, white and ivory, pink and blue, and blue and white combos.

I made some for myself for when I redo my sunroom in the shabby chic look. Stay tuned for the progress of that makeover!

my 1st show

I usually like to post a couple of times a week at the least, but on Monday I decided to show my creations at a local craft show. Now this one would be the first one I have ever been in, so I was in a bit of a hurry trying to make more things to bring and getting everthing ready for Saturday.

This was my little table. I was really happy with how it turned out!

It was the Church's 1st craft show, so the turn out was kinda small but I did sell a bunch of things!

I had a little bit of Christmas, mitten ornaments and framed vintage prints.

One of the best sellers of the day were my photo greeting cards.

Thanks to my husband and my Mom for helping me out Saturday with my first craft show!! Can't wait to do another one!

holiday arrangements

I've been real busy at work lately, trying to get my quotas done of Christmas arrangements. Yes I know, Christmas. But at least it get me excited for the holidays!

Here's some recent creations I have made....

Pumpkin basket arrangement with mums, sunflowers, hydrangeas and fillers.

Magnolias, berries, roses, and fillers in another fall piece.

And the starting of Christmas, I have been getting some strange looks from customers lately, "Christmas already??" I've been trying out some new design techniques, what do you think?

I really liked how this arrangement turned out. You can't really see it but it's in a beautiful red and gold mosaic glass container, perfect little sparkle!

We have gotten in a lot of black pieces for Christmas, the look is very dramatic I think!

I'll be posting more in the future, I only have about 800 more to do... wish me luck!

I wanted to share some of my favorite finds these past weeks. I can't help myself if I find any type of lace anywhere! I picked these up at Antique Co-op for a $1 each. I was so excited! :)

Next I found this set of gold Fleur De lis buttons. I have a couple of ideas to what to use them on, but for right now I'll put them on a pretty saucer to display.

Mmmm...vintage trims! This looks like it dates way back. I'm thinking about using it on one of my mannequins that I have been wanting to dress up in something.....future project! More to come on that....

While on my weekly visit to Target, I came across some Simply Shabby Chic items on clearance, I nearly grabbed it and ran to the checkout, it being only $3! I have been eyeing this for awhile now and I thought it would be cute in the bathroom with some cotton balls stored in it.

And another piece to add to my collection is this small display plate from the Queen's Jubilee ceremony. Only $1.95.. how could I pass it up?

a peek at my parents house

For awhile now I have been wanting to share parts of my parents lovely house. Both my Mom and Dad are impeccable with details and how they put rooms together. Since moving out they have almost completely redone and redesign every room. They aren't afraid to try new techniques and colors in designing. My Dad has done the remodeling all himself (with my Mom's help) new baths, toilets, pluming...you name it he does it! So enjoy the little sneak peek!!

I always enjoyed sitting on the front porch on a gorgeous day. It's truly a relaxing and beautiful place to be.

The little touches to finish a look.

Just a peek at my Mothers flowers in her stunning garden. Next summer I will take you all on a garden tour. I loved how the ivy leaves were changing into a beautiful maroon color.

Here is my old room now totally changed over :( It used to ALL pink, pink everything!! But I have to admit that I love how it turned out.

Some Shabby Chic pieces accent the room. This lamp and shade I gave to my Mom for her birthday one year. That cute picture of the dog is Molly (or Mollers as I like to call her) I took this picture on the window seat a couple years back in the room.

I've been checking out the Shabby Chic website to see all the beautiful things for sale. When I saw the Union Jack wall hanging and pillow.. I knew it was for me! Being of English heritage I fell in love with it. I thought I would try my hand at making one.

I picked three coordinating fabrics I would use for the pillow. I decided to make a small version and I thought if it turned out alright I would make a larger and maybe a wall hanging. I think it turned out pretty good, next time I might make it more like the British flag.

I've had so much fun creating the Shabby Wreaths that I decided to create chic bangle bracelets with the same feel. They definitely have some whimsy to them!!

a trip to the farm market

Oh do I love this time of year, the aromas, the fruits and the sights. Today I went to my local farm market to pick up some fresh apples and cider. Two of my favorite things.

I took my camera along to take some snaps of the gourds and pumpkins. I took a similar picture last year as my Thanksgiving card to my family. I'll have to pick out one of the many I took this year. :)

I finished up these pillows today. Most of the items are already in my Etsy shop. And others will be added soon! I have had so much fun picking out fabric and making these fun pillows.

This little cutie I made out of a vintage needlepoint of a stork. I added vintage baby fabric on the back of it. Perfect for a baby's room. $9

fall telephone hutch

Yes thats right, MORE fall decorating!! :) I have been busy changing over my whole house, giving it that autumn feel.
Another spot I decorate seasonally is my telephone hutch; another piece I bought from Pottery Barn. I got 4 of these cute little Halloween decorations at Michaels, the faces on them are too stinkin' cute!!

A couple of weeks ago my Mom and I went to a little shop and the woman was selling beautiful dried hydrangeas. They are the gorgeous shade of green. I used an old dresser drawer for the base container for the arrangement.

After going to the Haunted Mansion in Disney and seeing the spooky decorations there, I wanted to dress up the lighting fixture over our dining room table. I bought a bag of fake spider webbing and attached small little dangling spiders to finish the look. The funny thing is that I HATE spiders with a passion but I decorate with them all over the house...hmmm.... kinda funny huh? My hubby asked if I was going to be able to sit and eat at the table every night with them hanging down in my face...we'll see!!

Now I'm off to decorate the outside of my house!! Pumpkin, leave and gourds.

I found all these glass pieces last week. The two smaller pieces found at a thrift store for 69 cents each! After leaving the store I found out that there was an auction going on across the street, I HAD to see what was going on over there!

I found so many goodies, included where four glass cloches. The HUGE one on the left and also the tall round one. I think I'm already hooked on the auction scene, I'll be looking for more to go to in the future!

Underneath the large cloche I place a large pumpkin candle from PB, the smaller cloche I put a couple of fall leaf branches, and the two glass canisters I filled with faux acorns and fall leaves. I dressed up the coffee table with black crepe paper and lace.

Today I changed over my hutch for a fall look. Before I had pinks and blues, and I need to change it to fall colors. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out!

Working at Pottery Barn influenced how I decorated the plates. I dressed the hutches there when I managed the table top department, so it all came back to me. I bought the green dinner plates and the white pumpkins at the Christmas Tree store. The two tone napkins are from Pottery Barn.

Some other accents I used were mini pumpkin candles, berries clusters, David Winter cottages and leaf plates from PB.

One of my favorite movies is Little Women, and I found an old version of the book by Louisa May Alcott at a barn sale over the summer. The illustrations are beautiful. My husband got the plate with one of our wedding photos made for our anniversary.

And a bundle of 10 yards of this pretty vintage lace, wrapped with seam binding.

there's no place like home...

My husband and two of our friends went on a little va-ca to the happiest place in the world. We arrived back home on Sunday and it felt good to be back at our house. We had a really great time at Walt Disney World. It was so nice to feel like a kid again, going on the Teacups and seeing Cinderella's castle.

The four of us decided to have lunch in Cinderella's castle, so I went up to the hostess and gave her our name and how many, she then asked us if we had a reservation, (and of course we did not) because there is a 4-6 month waiting list to have lunch with Cinderella! Boy did we feel dumb!! So just as an FYI: if your going to Disney and want to eat there make sure you plan AHEAD!! ;)

When ever I'm at a sale or antique store I am always on the lookout for lace and trims. This past weekend I hit the mother load of vintage lace. At a local vintage craft store they were selling BAGS of pretty lace. And the ones I got were not bits and pieces, they were yards and yards of each. YUM!

I want to introduce you all to my little princess. Here and there I've talked about her, but she is a big part of my husband and mine life at home, that I thought I would show you more of our puppy.

Coco at 4 weeks.

We got her when she was 2 months old, so little and cute, we knew she was the one for us. I wanted a cute name for our new girl, after thinking and thinking of a name, I came up with Coco after Coco Chanel, the designer.

Almost two years later she keeps us entertained, going after animals on t.v. and just by cuddling with us. But she still has her puppy energy and puppy characteristics by getting into the garbage among other things. She's only 8 pounds but she can jump about 4 1/2 foot high.

She always cracks us up and we love her so much, so I'm sure you'll be seeing more of her!

I made this little sign to go above Coco's food and water dishes. The spot above looked a little bare, so I thought to make a little something for a spot where she spends some time at.

I used acrylic paint, puffy paint, German glass glitter, crepe paper and wooden letters.

I think she'll like her little sign, hopefully not too much and eat it! :)

Recently I made a cute little apron. I am hoping to add another category to the Boutique, Aprons & Accessories. I had so much fun making this one, that I have plans to make many more.

Here is my 1st one I made. It is made out of an old vintage sheet. When I saw the pattern, I immediately thought of how cute it would be as an apron.

On the ties I added vintage buttons on each side.

I added a flower and a button to the side.

hutch makeover

This past friday when the A.C. man was installing our new air conditioner unit, I had the time to re-vamp my hutch. I swtiched out a lot of different things to give it a fresh look for the rest of the summer.

I changed up the dishes, using my flea market finds and my favorite dishes.

I found this cute blue dish at the public market garage sale yesterday. I put some of my diamond broaches on display.

This cute tea cup stand my Mom gave me. These tea cups are Limoges. I found them a few weeks ago and fell in love with them. I found matching desert plates at the same sale.

I had to leave the cute creamer and sugar on display, added a bird's nest with eggs on his head. The small frame has a hand painted rose design done on velvet.

How could you not love Stargazer Lilies?? So pretty with pink and the white, towering high and smelling so good.

The Stargazer lily was created in 1978 by Leslie Woodriff, a lilybreeder in California. The plant is an Oriental hybrid lily which she named "Stargazer," because the blooms faced the sky. I would always love getting them in at the florist.

Does anyone else have them in their garden?

Another arrangement in my home. This one is on my coffee table in the living room. Surrounded by a scrapbook from our recent cruise and our wedding album. This one I made at work when I first started at my current job, it was finally marked down and it was always one of my favorites I made, so I had to get it!! Arrangement with tan hydrangeas, spanish moss, and green ferns. Simple and elegant.

This little beauty I found at a sale not too long ago. A beautiful glass cloche accented with a glass green bird on top for a handle.

For now I placed both on a pretty vintage dinner plate. It sits on an antique sewing table in my front living room window.

I got this a small little plant called Episcia, Pink Dream; at the local flower shop back in March. I just love the pink and green leaves. One of my favorite color combos!!

I was so hoping that my hydrangeas this year would bloom. Last year I had no luck with my hydrangea plants. But this year, I am pleased to say that they did! Now I don't have one of those HUGE bushes I see in almost everyones yard. Mine I bought at Home Depot, a small plant, so I was hoping for the best. The blossom I got this year is amazing. Beautiful light pink in color and a huge flowering head. Just take a look!

This is from another hydrangea bush I just recently got handed down to me. A little darker in color and still beautiful!

Hydrangeas for me are a beautiful sign of summer!

Cindy over at My Romantic Home is hosting a "Our Favorite Things" event about your own home.

My favorite thing about my own home is my Welsh Hutch. My Grandfather made this for my husband and I for our first wedding anniversary (last year). He had made my Mom and Dad one long ago and I had always loved theirs.

It's great to store my fancy dishes and serving pieces, along with my linens to dress the table. I will always cherish this hutch because it has so much hard work and love that went into making it. And it means so much that my Grandfather took the time to make it for us!!

Yesterday was a very busy day at work, I had to create wedding flowers for a customer. This was her second wedding, so it was a smaller event and wasn't really sure what she wanted. She showed me a piece of fabric she was going to wear for her wedding dress, a beautiful taupe color.

I picked out some neutral colors and added a touch of pink. I wrapped the stems in a satin taupe ribbon.

This is the matron of honors bouquet, similar to the brides, just a little smaller and with purple accents. She is wearing a deep eggplant color with taupe colored shoes. I sure they are going to look beautiful carrying these bouquets matching perfectly.

These are the boutonnieres and corsages; same color theme for each.

I also had to make this beast of a bow. A customer came in wanting a huge bow for a sweet 16 present... a car!! It took awhile to make, but hopefully it will make the statement!

Here's a couple of finds I found at a recent sale, that just called my name AGAIN! I maybe it is just an excuse just to buy it now!!

This beautiful hankie was at an estate sale Friday, hand embroidered with an "S" on it. It had a couple of spots on it, but for 75 cents, who cares! Plus I had an idea for it that wouldn't be using the whole hankie. At the same sale I came across this small gold frame. Perfect!

It took me a while to get the hankie in the small frame centered and not all switched up. But I think the result it great! Looks great on my shelf in my living room.

Here's another framed hankie I found at a sale, looks great on my hutch, next to my sugar and creamer!

lucky letters and numbers

Thinking about what to blog about today, I was looking around my house getting ideas. Then these caught my attention.

I was a sale a while back and found these gold metal letters. That were my initials, I just had to get them, whats the chance they would have mine?!?

A couple years ago I found a bunch of these tiles in a basket at a little shop. They were marked down to like 5 for a $1, so I wondered what I could do with them and what the numbers could represent. This was summer before I got married, and looking at the numbers closer they "spelled" out my future wedding date! How lucky to find them! It was a sign!

I love finding things like this, things that just suit you that you have to get them or you will kick yourself the moment you leave that sale.

Mind Wide Open Creative Contest- "Remembering Lily"

Over at Mind Wide Open, they are having a contest to get your creative juices flowing. I had to include this image of a girl, and use any medium to creative art with it. Also given was the work "Remembrance" to inspire you.

I decided to make a pillow, and named it "Remembering Lily".
I created a story about the pillow and the image of the girl.

I used "remembrance" by including an old postcard this girl, Lily sent to her parents while away at school in Paris. Also items that this girl might have worn, like the buttons, lace, anything that her parents can remember her by while shes gone at school.

I also used lace, vintage buttons, fabric, silk flowers, and paper.

miss-matching frames

I have never really followed decorating "rules" when decorating my own home, I usually just decorate with anything and how ever I want; whatever looks good to me. One example is my photo walls. I have 3 different collections in different parts of my home. The one above is in my family room, using frames from Pottery Barn, garage sales, my prom, and vacation souvenirs, just to name a few. Using different sizes, shapes, textures and colors.

This set is using 2 types of frames, different colors, and colors. I like how they have the same mat in each one to give it a common thread.

This one is in my hallway going upstairs. Another grouping using different types of frames.

When I worked at Pottery Barn, a lot of my customers wanted to create a photo wall, and asked my opinion about if they should use the same or different frames on their wall. I told them it's about personal choice, what kind of feel you want your walls to have.

I call it decorating "suggestions" not decorating "rules" Do what you want and what looks best to you.

I've seen these cuties here and there, the Bailey's Cream and Sugar pieces; I've always kicked myself for not picking them up. Then last week when I was at a sale I spotted them on a table with a bunch of other things on it. I had to get them immediately before someone else did!

For $3 they were a steal!

They are so cute!!

They are now living on the top shelf of my hutch. I think they will be very happy there :)

These beauties were left to us in our garden from the original owners of our house. Every June they blossom and its just spectacular! The rose bush itself is pretty large and is in a great location so I'm able to see it every morning.

I'm have no idea what kind of rose bush it is, all I know is that it's beautiful! Anyone have an idea what kind?

These little guys I found last year at a estate sale. I couldn't resist not picking them up and giving them a home. I just love the guy in the middle holding the flowers, so cute! They are placed in my sunroom, looking over my gardens.

It looks like they were hand painted years ago. There is a small signature of some sort on the bottom of each one. Either way they are so cute and unique that I couldn't say no to them!

crazy beautiful foxglove

Here are my foxglove I was talking about in this post. I bought a very SMALL portion of this plant last summer and hoping that it would do well, and to my surprise they kept on getting taller and taller. I have 3 stems that grew and boy were they beautiful! Just take a look!!

The blossoms are so unique looking, so beautiful!

The foxglove are towering over my peonies and the other plants. I'm thinking about buying some more and planting them in my new garden!!

my new wreath

A new wreath I made for over the stairwell going into our family room. I have had a collection of gorgeous silk flowers that I've been wanting to do something for quite some time. I'm really happy with how it turned out, with the different shades of pinks, purples, greens, and whites.

turquoise necklace

My Mom was out shopping one day and saw a turquoise necklace that she loved. When she told me about the necklace and how much it cost, I told her that I would make her one for A LOT less then what it was selling for. After helping her pick out the right turquoise and matching beads, I put together this necklace and matching bracelet. I think it would look so chic wearing a black or white top, but anything would look great on her wearing this!!

my flower boxes

A week later and here are my flower boxes! I think they brighten up the front of the house and add a little summer to the look. Since I've planted them they already have grown a lot! We are in a bit of a heat wave here in Rochester so they are lovin to get watered! Lots n lots!

Here's the front entrance, I bought 2 urns at Christmas Tree store to put on either side of the fence. Filled petunas, marigolds and ageratum. My peonies, roses, and foxglove are grown large and beautiful. Wait to you see the foxglove! They are over 4 foot high!!

I went out to my local garden store to purchase some blooms for my flower boxes and for my gardens. There was SO much to choose from, I had a hard time deciding on what kinds! Just look at the hanging baskets, they were AMAZING!

Here's more of the hanging baskets, they were everywhere!

Look at all the shades of green! Wouldn't it look great with flower boxes filled just with these shades of green??

Here's some of the flowers I went home with, I kept it old school with geraniums, marigolds, and some other bright filler flowers.
